Meet Crook Community Partnership's Trustees

Andrew Hall - Chairman

Andrew Hall – Chairman

I have been Chairman of the Community Partnership since 2007. I am also Vice-Chair of Crook Town Council Steering Group. My hobbies include building models; if you came to the Out of This World event you would have seen many of my models on display.

David English - Vice Chairman

I am one of the founder members of the partnership from back in 1994. I am married, aged 51 and have a son called James. I have lived in the Crook area all my life and love the Town. I work both for Marie Curie Cancer Care and Dale Care. I also run my own business D & B Collectables and have a stall on Crook market.

David English - Vice Chairman

I am very active in the community and am vice-chair of the Carnival Committee, vice-chair of the Watergate Action Group, Trustee of Signpost and St Catherine’s Community Association. Also I am on the steering group for the Town Council and on the festival committee. I really enjoy helping the people of Crook and look forward to serving them in the future.

Jacqui Hall – Secretary

I have been involved with the partnership for a number of years. I am a member of Crook Town Council Steering Group. My hobbies include building models, cross stitching and card making.

Margaret Parkin - Treasurer

I first became involved with community work while my 2 children were at Hartside School, at that time they had a thriving community association, I worked in the coffee bar area mornings and evenings, I became actively involved with the Youth Club and after training to be a qualified part time Youth Worker I helped with the organising and running of the Summer Play schemes, that we use to have in the summer holidays, as well as being an active parent helper within the school.

I was approached to become a member of the partnership , with living and working in the town I do know quite a lot of people of all ages, and having a been involved with community work before I thought is would be a good way of getting back into it, and trying to bring all of the organisations, and the people of Crook together, to try and promote the town and regenerate it.

Hannah Murray-Leslie

I've lived in Crook for four years now, having moved down from Newcastle.  I am self employed, doing project management within the cultural sector across the North East.  I love growing things; my partner and I have an allotment at Wheatbottom, and generally being outdoors especially walking, mountain biking and horse riding. I'm a member of a number of community groups - Crook Carnival, Crook Samba Arts and Glenholme Youth Centre.  I strongly believe in community action and wish that more people would get off their backsides and get involved.

I was made a trustee in March 2008. I was very impressed by what the partnership were doing and the things they where involved in, so I signed up as a member.

I am secretary of Watergate Action Group and a member of Dale and Valley Homes Customer Survey Panel. We work together with the Partnership on different schemes such as youth groups and having notice boards erected. I also help out at events and open days showing people different hobbies and telling them about different benefits they are entitled to.
